Description: megapixel.net
is a little bit more than a hodge-podge of photographic information
(just a little). While there isn't a well conveyed theme or
purpose to the site, you can spend a lot of time looking through the
galleries of visitor submissions for, as the site proclaims,
"inspiration".
Tips: If you can forgive this site's poor navigation, there are some hidden gems. Browsing through the galleries is akin to a trip to the museum. The "Articles" section includes a lot of tips on camera equipment and photography techniques sure to expand you knowledge.

up for by the unique nature of the articles. You can subscribe to the
site's newsletter on the home page to have the information pushed to you. If you have a bunch of pictures sitting on your hard drive, take a look at the "do it yourself" tagged postings to find novel ways to display your work.

Strobist blog is dedicated to democratize the world of professional
lighting equipment. Okay, perhaps that's an exaggeration, but the
author demonstrates the effectiveness of using small, off-camera
strobes (flash units) to create pleasing lighting effects.
Tips: Begin by reading the introductory post which explains the concept of a "strobist". Once you get the idea, follow the "Lighting 101" series of postings to
get a good foundation on becoming a strobist. This site drives home the
fact photography really is "painting with light". |
